The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed center Brad Meester to an extension of his contract. A second-round draft choice in 2000, Meester is the only player in franchise history to start the first 56 games of his career. He is three starts away from breaking Kevin Hardy's team record for most consecutive starts.
Meester started 48 games at left guard in his first three seasons, and after switching to center this year he has started all eight games. A 6-3, 295-pounder from Northern Iowa, Meester has missed only three snaps in four seasons.
"Brad has been one of the most consistent performers on the team," said Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio. "His approach is very professional and we're happy to have him signed up."
