Mini-Camp Wrap-up Notes

JAGUARS CONCLUDE MINI-CAMP WITH TWO PRACTICES

The Jacksonville Jaguars concluded their 2008 mini-camp with two practice sessions on Saturday on the practice fields at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The Jaguars also held two practices on Friday.

"Obviously we're very pleased with the way the weekend went," Jaguars Head Coach Jack Del Rio said in wrapping up the mini-camp. "We had great weather, fans came out in large numbers, supported the team, guys were excited to practice in that atmosphere.

"I think we had a real productive weekend and as I told our guys, we're almost through our offseason phase where we'll finish up our conditioning and all that and then get a little break before camp begins, but not quite yet. We've got a few more (practices) next week so we'll be back at it Tuesday, but they'll get the next couple days off."

The team will finish up their on-field work with three OTA practice sessions next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

TORNADO RELIEF HATS CONTINE SELLING

The Jaguars sold AP Falcons Tornado Relief hats throughout the weekend and they will continue to be available on jaguars.com to help raise money for tornado relief in Parkersburg, Iowa. Parkersburg is the home area of Jaguars center Brad Meester, and proceeds from the hats will be distributed to the Parkersburg Relief Fund by Meester when he returns to Iowa later this month.

DEL RIO FOUNDATION HOSTS CHILDREN FROM SEAMARK RANCH

The Jack Del Rio Foundation hosted several children from the Seamark Ranch at practice on Saturday morning. The group had the opportunity to meet the players following practice and enjoy ice cream and the 2007 Jaguars highlight film in the team meeting room. The Seamark Ranch exists to provide children a home where a Christ-centered environment promotes hope, healing, and a brighter future in the lives of children. The organization is a non-profit children's home serving churches, businesses, foundations, and individuals by taking action to address the needs of abused, abandoned, and orphaned children.

RUNNING BACK FRED TAYLOR ON THE ROOKIES

"Guys are flying around. We have some young guys that are very hungry. I look across the line and see (Derrick) Harvey and he's moving around like he's been in the league a year already. We still have on underwear. The pads aren't even on yet. Quentin Groves has been at the facility at six-thirty every morning. The hunger in these guys' eyes, it's good to see that."
