The Jacksonville Jaguars will be selling an A-P Falcons Tornado Relief hat at this weekend's minicamp and also on jaguars.com to help raise money for tornado relief in Parkersburg, Iowa. Parkersburg is the home area of Jaguars center Brad Meester.
Proceeds from the hats will be distributed to the Parkersburg Relief Fund by Meester when he returns to Iowa next week. A tornado struck Parkersburg on May 25 and several people were killed and much of the downtown was leveled in the city of 1,800. Aplington-Parkersburg High School was completely destroyed along with many homes and businesses in and around the community. Meester, as well as Lions DE Jared DeVries, Packers DE Aaron Kampman, and Broncos C Casey Wiegman played at Aplington-Parkersburg High School.
Many Jaguars players and coaches will be wearing the hats throughout minicamp on Friday and Saturday. Hats will be available at practice both days for $20 or on jaguars.com. The mini-camp practices are open to the public and are scheduled for 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 4:15-6:00 p.m. both days.
Contributions can be made to the Parkersburg Relief Fund by making a check payable to LSB Foundation Parkersburg Relief Fund and sent to LSB (Lincoln Savings Bank) Foundation, 242 Tower Park Drive, Waterloo, Iowa 50701.
