Official: Wester signs

Story Graphic - Leonard Wester

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars continue to address offensive-line depth.

Leonard Wester, a fourth-year NFL veteran who spent the past three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, signed with the Jaguars as a free agent on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wester (6-feet-6, 305 pounds), who originally signed with the Buccaneers as a collegiate free agent from Missouri Western following the 2016 NFL Draft, played in 27 games in three seasons with Tampa Bay. He played in all 16 games this past season. Wester caught a two-yard touchdown pass in 2017 after lining up as a "jumbo" tight end.

Wester's signing is the Jaguars' 12th since free agency began on the March 13 start of the 2019 NFL League Year, with five of the signings coming along the offensive line. The team re-signed starting right guard A.J. Cann and also re-signed swing tackle Josh Wells and guard/center Tyler Shatley in addition to signing right tackle Cedric Ogbuehi as an unrestricted free agent from the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Jaguars since March 13 also have signed as free agents quarterback Nick Foles (Philadelphia), running backs Alfred Blue (Houston) and Benny Cunningham (Chicago), wide receiver Chris Conley (Kansas City), tight end Geoff Swaim (Dallas) and linebacker Jake Ryan (Green Bay) in addition to re-signing tight end James O'Shaughnessy.
