Playbooks available

The Jaguars Foundation will have the 2005-2006 edition of The Official Playbooks® available at all local public library branches in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns Counties starting today, September 12, 2005 through January 1, 2006, while supplies last.

Playbooks is the Jaguars Foundation's effort to promote reading and utilization of the public library among children and families by sharing a list of favorite books, in all age groups, that inspire, educate or entertain. Playbooks is sponsored by PEPSI with additional support from REEBOK.

This year's edition features the Jaguars 2005 first-round draft pick, Matt Jones, on the cover. The beautifully illustrated booklet includes Jaguars owners, players, coaches, The ROAR, and JAXSON de Ville with their recommended books. Other features include puzzles; a contest for kids; and, tips for parents.

The Playbooks website allows for more interaction by the public and provides an opportunity for classrooms to use as a teaching tool. The interactive website also includes games for kids, a book review contest, tips for parents and links to other reading sites. Jaguars players continue to be featured on the site, some with audio and video recordings.

The Dalton Agency, which has designed Playbooks each year since the program's inception, also designed and programmed the Playbooks website.
