JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed LB Jahlani Tavai (ja-LAN-EE TAH-vie), the team announced today. Additionally, the team has waived LB Jared Bartlett with an injury designation.

Tavai, 29, has played in 107 games (67 starts) in seven seasons with the Lions (2019-23) and Patriots (2024-25) after being drafted by Detroit in the second round (43rd overall) in 2019. His career totals include 432 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits, 14 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Tavai played in 12 regular season games (seven starts) and totaled 34 tackles (four for loss) and a forced fumble with New England last season. He also played in the team's four postseason contests (two starts), including Super Bowl LX.

Tavai, an Inglewood, Calif. native, played college football at Hawaii (2014-18) where he played 47 games and had 391 tackles, 41 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
