The Jaguars today released eighth-year offensive tackle Ephraim Salaam and signed rookie defensive end Jim Davis from the practice squad.
Davis, 24, has spent the entire season on the Jaguars practice squad after originally signing as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Virginia Tech. The 6-3, 275-pounder finished the preseason with seven tackles and five quarterback pressures.
Salaam, 29, played in the Jaguars' first five games with two starts at left tackle. The 6-7, 295-pound offensive tackle was inactive for the last 10 games. He has started 14 of his 20 games with the Jaguars after signing as a veteran free agent on March 24, 2004.
