Stadium Update: "Our Fans Will Not Have Any Change in Their Experience"

STADIUM

JACKSONVILLE – The progress was real and significant.

That was part of the news Jaguars President Mark Lamping delivered Thursday regarding recent ongoing renovations on EverBank Stadium. The news was as good regarding the short-term effects for fans attending Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

"The most positive thing is our fans will not have any change in their experience on Sunday," Lamping said.

Lamping met with local media Thursday in advance of Sunday's game, which will be the first at EverBank Stadium in more than a month. The Jaguars' next game there will be against the Tennessee Titans on November 29, with renovations ongoing during the weeks between Jacksonville home games.

Lamping called the four-week window that will end Sunday "critically important" to the ongoing renovation that will allow the “Stadium of the Future” to be ready for the 2028 season.

The Jaguars will play domestic home games at Camping World Stadium in Orlando in 2027, having opted to play six regular-season home games – with a midseason stretch away from Jacksonville – in 2026 instead of two consecutive seasons with no Jacksonville home games.

"If you just take a step back, it's like, 'Boy, it's a shame that the team hasn't been here for a month,''' Lamping said. "That was the tradeoff of playing any games in Jacksonville this year."

Lamping said he originally planned to meet with the media Thursday to inform fans about what they could expect at the stadium Sunday following four weeks of work, but said there were "no changes" that would significantly affect fan experience.

"There's nothing we had to do that our fans in terms of the way they get into the stadium, how they get around it, is any different than the last time they were here," he said.

The Future is Now

By placing your 2028 season ticket deposit today, you'll secure priority access and move to the front of the line for seats in the new stadium.

Lamping said there have been no modifications to stadium entrances since the Jaguars' last game there – a 35-6 victory over the New England Patriots – and said the Jaguars have "cleaned some things up inside the stadium" to address issues such as overcrowding in the main concourse.

"We've made some modifications there to help clean that up," he said. "So really not a lot to announce as it relates to it, but there were a number of milestones that were met over the past 30 days that has allowed us to keep the construction on schedule.

"We were fortunate that the league was going to work hard with us on creating this donut in the middle of the schedule and it turned out okay. And we're expecting a lot of excitement starting again on Sunday."

Added Lamping, "We're on schedule. The period was put to great use. Really appreciate our fans' patience during this process, and hopefully we can have a very exciting next few chapters and hopefully more chapters than we currently have scheduled in this building."

Lamping, too, said any Jaguars home playoff games following the 2026 regular season will be played in Jacksonville.

"We have zero motivation to take the games anywhere other than as close as they possibly can be to our fans," he said.
