JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars practiced at the Miller Electric Center Wednesday.
The AFC South-leading Jaguars (4-2) practiced in pads for an extended period, with the bye week just past and with a game Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts (2-5) at EverBank Stadium. Head Coach Liam Coen spoke to the media before practice, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence among players speaking after practice.
A look at Wednesday around the Jaguars:
1.The Jaguars will play at the 'Bank Sunday, and that's a positive.
That has been comparatively rare and it's going to get rarer, which makes Sunday a cool thing – and an important thing – for a Jaguars team that has played well in Jacksonville lately.
"We're just playing some good football, and you want to win at home," defensive end Josh Hines-Allen said.
The Jaguars are 2-0 in Jacksonville this season, with their last game at the 'Bank a 35-6 victory over the New England Patriots on September 27.
They beat the Cleveland Browns, 34-10, in the regular-season opener and have three regular-season home games in Jacksonville remaining after Sunday – against the Tennessee Titans November 29, the Pittsburgh Steelers December 14 and the Washington Commanders the weekend of January.
They will play all domestic regular-season games in Orlando in 2027 before playing home games in the renovated Stadium of the Future in Jacksonville in 2028.
"We're excited obviously," Hines-Allen said. "We have to cherish the moments that we have right now and get it done this weekend."
The Jaguars have won their last six regular-season games in Jacksonville by a combined 38.1-11.3.
"You want to play well at home in front of your home crowd and your fans and that hasn't always been the case," quarterback Trevor Lawrence said. "It's a good feeling knowing that we're playing good here. It's such a week-to-week league. It doesn't really mean much for this Sunday.
"We have to prepare and go play well on Sunday to get a win."

2.Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. said his confidence remains strong.
"I feel I still know what I can do," he said. "I just have to go out and do it and go out there and show everybody what I can do."
Added Thomas, "Everybody goes through adversity. You just have to keep fighting through it. That's the only way I know how to get through it. That's what I'm going to continue to do, keep fighting and keep coming in with a good mindset."
Thomas, who has caught nine passes for 105 yards and a touchdown this season, has struggled with dropped passes at times over the last two seasons. He had a drop early in a 34-31 loss to the Houston Texans in the Jaguars' last game and also missed a chance at a reception late in the first half.
He did not play a snap in the second half against Houston.
"I really just wanted to flush it, come back ready with a different mindset and come back ready to go," Thomas said. "That was the biggest thing for me."
Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen on Tuesday reiterated what he said Monday – that confidence in the 2024 Pro Bowl selection remains high.
"Every player has ups and downs," Coen said. "It's just week to week in the NFL. I fully anticipate he's going to make plays for us this Sunday. Every week different guys step up, different guys make plays. You have to be able to be consistent with the approach as a coach to say, 'OK, you have to keep giving people opportunities,' but when there's a hot hand going you have to go with the hot hand a little here and there. That's just the way the game flows."
Added Lawrence, "We have a ton of confidence in him and just excited for another opportunity this week to go put together a good plan for really all our guys, but especially, B.T."
3.The Jaguars on Wednesday released the first of three injury reports for the week, with safety Antonio Johnson the lone player listed as not practicing. Johnson sustained an ankle injury against the Texans.
Cornerback Montaric Brown, who missed two of three games leading to the bye with a hamstring injury, practiced full on Wednesday. Tight end Brenton Strange was listed as practicing full Wednesday with an eye issue.
Long snapper Ross Matiscik, who missed the Texans game with a shoulder injury, was among four players listed as practicing limited Wednesday. Also practicing limited: Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (hamstring), defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro (ankle) and linebacker Jahlani Tavai (hamstring).
