The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed running back James Stewart to a contract extension. Length and terms of the deal are undisclosed.
Stewart was a first-round draft choice in the Jaguars' inaugural season of 1995. He holds Jaguars' records for rushing yards in a career (1,803) and a game (112), and his 132 points scored leads all non-kickers. In 1997, Stewart rushed for 555 yards and scored nine touchdowns.
Also, two selections in last month's college draft - defensive tackle Harry Deligianis (fourth round) and linebacker Brandon Tolbert (seventh round) - have signed their contracts with the team. Six of the nine players who reached verbal agreements with the Jaguars last week have now officially signed.
