Three nominated

Three Jaguars, running back Fred Taylor, running back/kick returner Maurice Jones-Drew and head coach Jack Del Rio, have been nominated for NFL Weekly honors. Taylor was nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week, Jones-Drew was nominated as the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week, and Del Rio was nominated Motorola NFL Coach of the Week. Fan voting began today at noon and continues through Thursday at 5 p.m. at NFL.com.

Taylor rushed for a season-high 111 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries against the New York Jets in the Jaguars 41-0 shutout win last Sunday. Taylor's 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter put the Jaguars up 14-0. Taylor has rushed for three 100-yard games in four career starts against the Jets.

Jones-Drew ran for 59 yards on 13 carries and scored a career-high two rushing touchdowns in the Jaguars' win last Sunday. The rookie from UCLA scored on six and four-yard runs in the first half. He added one kickoff return for 20 yards. This is his second nomination in five games.

Del Rio led the Jaguars to their second consecutive home shutout with the 41-0 win over the Jets at Alltel Stadium. All three phases of his team competed at the highest level, as the offense totaled 312 yards and five touchdowns, the defense forced three interceptions and a fumble without allowing any points and the special teams unit blocked a punt and converted two 40-plus yard field goals.
