TOM COUGHLIN CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC

The inaugural Tom Coughlin Celebrity Golf Classic, benefitting The Jay Fund, will take place on Sunday and Monday, May 5 and 6 at Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach. An impressive

lineup of celebrity participants includes National Football League Coach of the Year Ray Rhodes of the Philadelphia Eagles, Dan Reeves of the New York Giants, Ted Marchibroda of Baltimore and Bill Parcells of the New England Patriots, in addition to Grambling coaching legend Eddie Robinson. Several NFL players will also be participating, including Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, Mark Brunell and Tony Boselli of the Jaguars, and LeRoy Butler and Edgar Bennett of the Green Bay Packers, along with television personalities, members of the NFL Alumni Association and other celebrities.

The Tom Coughlin Celebrity Golf Classic, which is presented by WTLV-TV Channel 12, was established to raise funds and to help meet the needs of local children with leukemia and related diseases through The Jay Fund. The Jay Fund is named in honor of Jay McGillis, a young man who played football under Tom Coughlin at Boston College. Jay's promising life was ended after a courageous battle against leukemia.

Jay and his family were an example of courage and inspiration for those who knew them. In seeing first-hand the devastating physical, emotional and financial impact that a disease such as leukemia can have on individuals and families, Tom Coughlin established The Jay Fund. The Fund is to honor Jay's spirit, to assist others in need, and to touch and improve the lives of children and families in Jacksonville.
