Training camp rolls on

The Jacksonville Jaguars held two practice sessions today at the practice fields at Alltel Stadium with the players in full pads for the afternoon practice for the second consecutive day. In the morning practice head coach Jack Del Rio praised the play of last year's top draft pick Reggie Williams.

"I think Reggie Williams' hard work is benefiting Reggie Williams. For the most part, he has really devoted himself to being a special player for us and having a great year. So, certainly offensively we want to take advantage of what guys are capable of and put them in positions to make plays. I think you've seen early in camp here that he is poised to have an excellent year for us," said Del Rio.

Del Rio also commented on the play of his draft picks and specifically third round cornerback Scott Starks and sixth round wide receiver Chad Owens.

"They're undersized but they have big hearts and they're supremely conditioned, very competitive guys. They're good football players. They just happen to be undersized but still very, very good football players," said Del Rio. "We're seeing Chad's able to separate. He has some good ability. I really give credit to June Jones because for a young receiver coming in, he's a polished route runner, understands how to set moves up and things, and that gives him a chance."

Camp will continue on Thursday with two practice sessions at 11:00 a.m. (special teams practice) and 7:15 p.m. (pads) on the practice fields at Alltel Stadium.
