Week two begins

The Jacksonville Jaguars held two practice sessions today at the practice fields at Alltel Stadium to begin their second week of training camp and prepare for their first game week. The Jaguars will host the Miami Dolphins in their first preseason game on Saturday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m.

"We feel like last week was a nice beginning to camp, recognizing we have a lot of work to do yet. We feel very fortunate, very blessed that the team has been able to work through a lot of physical work and a lot of nine-on-seven and team periods and not have a bunch of injuries," said head coach Jack Del Rio. "We want to go out there on Saturday and do things right. There are a lot of position battles and there are some that aren't really battles where guys need to step it up and sharpen themselves for the season."

In the morning practice Del Rio acknowledged that he liked the way his team has prepared and performed in the first week of training camp.

"I like the energy. I like the enthusiasm. I like the attention to detail that's being put in, and like I said, we come out here every day with a purpose in mind and that's to get better as a football team. The team is giving me the effort I'm looking for," said Del Rio.

Tickets are still available for Saturday's game. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-877-4-JAGS-TIX or 904-633-2000 or online at www.jaguars.com

Camp will continue on Tuesday with two practice sessions at 11:00 a.m. (special teams practice) and 7:15 p.m. (pads) on the practice fields at Alltel Stadium.
