Georgia Southern safety David Young has a roster spot waiting for him with the Jaguars, if Young proves to be as effective a special teams player as he was in college.
The Jaguars made Young, 6-2, 211, their second of three sixth-round picks, and his selection was based primarily on six kick blocks in college.
"David Young is a real good special teams player," personnel director James "Shack" Harris said.
Beyond that, Young is a player with seven interceptions during his college career and is reported to be a big-hitter with strong run-support instincts. But, by and large, Young is the first special teams pick of the Del Rio/Harris era.
