The ROAR, the Jacksonville Jaguars 2006 cheerleading squad, was introduced Saturday, April 29th at The Jacksonville Landing during the Budweiser Draft Day Fan Fest. The squad is made up of 32 women, including 23 veterans and nine rookies.

The 2006 ROAR are:

Alexi, a 25-year old graduate from the University of Florida who is currently pursuing a MBA; she is from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., has 20 years of dance training and is a mother (1st year)

Amanda, a 27-year old wife and mother from Jacksonville who is the president of a local cheer and dance association; she received an AA from FCCJ where she was also the coach and member of the dance team (5th year)

Amy, a 26-year old from Hutchinson, Minn., who graduated from the Mayo School of Health Sciences and is a diagnostic medical sonographer; she has over 15 years of dance experience and performed with The ROAR for a NFL Europe game (4th year)

Cheryl, a 27-year old from Santa Rosa, Calif., who graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in business administration where she was also a cheerleader; she is married and is in financial services (4th year)

Christie, a student majoring in elementary education; she is 20 years old, from Melbourne, Fla. and has 17 years of dance training (2nd year)

Courtney, a student majoring in communications who is from Jacksonville, she is 20 years old and has been dancing for 10 years; she also has signed the National Anthem at several Jaguars home games in 2004 and 2005 (3rd year)

Danielle, a 22-year old from Deltona, Fla. who graduated with a degree in nursing from the University of North Florida; she has 18 years of dance training and was an All American Senior Dance Champion in 2002 (3rd year)

Darlene, a branding and public service coordinator for a local television station who is 34 years old; she is from Queens, N.Y. and has over 25 years of dance training (3rd year)

Emily, a 20-year old student from Jacksonville who is majoring in secondary education; she has 13 years of dance training (1st year)

Erica, a 26-year old court reporter from Jacksonville; she is from Jacksonville, has 17 years of cheer and dance training and is the business manager for a local all-star cheerleading team (3rd year)

Erin, an 18-year old from Jacksonville who is a student pursuing a career in court reporting; she has over 14 years of dance training and has been modeling for six years (1st year)

Heather, a 23-year old graduate from Florida State University with a degree in accounting who is currently a graduate student pursuing a MBA; she has 15 years of dance training (2nd year)

Jennifer, a 36-year old associate architect from Jacksonville who graduated from Clemson University with a degree in design-architecture; she cheered for the AFL for 5 years and has 30 years of dance training (2nd year)

Joni, a 26-year old physician assistant in neonatology who received a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Flagler College and a M.S.P.A.S from South University; she has 16 years of dance training (2nd year)

Karen, a 29-year old graduate of Jacksonville University with a degree in psychology, she works in financial services and is from Jacksonville; she has 25 years of dance training (5th year)

Kelsey, an 18-year old from Jacksonville Beach who is a student majoring in nursing; she has 14 years of dance training (1st year)

Kim, an elementary school teacher from St. Louis, MO who is 29 years old and married; she graduated from Jacksonville University and has completed two marathons, a half ironman and is a body combat instructor (2nd year)

Kristen, a 23-year old from Columbia, SC who graduated from Bethune-Cookman College with a degree in sociology; she is a teacher and behavior analyst at a local school for children with autism; she was the captain of her college dance team and has 20 years of dance training (2nd year)

Lacey, a 20-year old student from Titusville, Fla. who is majoring in dance; she has 18 years of dance training (1st year)

Laurie, a student majoring in health administration from Richmond, VA; she is 21 years old and has been a cheerleader for 13 years (2nd year)

LeTara, a 19-year old student from Key West pursuing a degree in pharmacy; she has 9 years of dance training and is a dance teacher and volunteer cheer coach (1st year)

Liana, a 28-year old attorney from Jacksonville who graduated from Emory University and Stetson University College of Law with her juris doctor degree; she was one of the first female lifeguards at Jacksonville Beach and has 22 years of dance training (3rd year)

Mandy, a 22-year old nursing student who graduated from Florida State University with a degree in exercise science; she is from Jacksonville and has 17 years of dance training (1st year)

Michelle, a 25-year old stock market investor who is originally from Tallahassee, Fla.; she is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in sports communications (1st year)

Missy, a 23-year old from Jacksonville who is a graduate of the University of North Florida and a high school teacher, she is currently pursuing a masters degree in educational leadership; she has 19 years of dance training (4th year)

Phillipa, a 36-year old wife and mother who is the assistant director of nursing at a local hospital; she graduated from the University of Florida and is currently pursuing a dual master's degree at Jacksonville University; she is from Nassau, Bahamas and traveled with The ROAR twice to entertain military service personnel stationed overseas (10th year)

Samantha, a 23-year old elementary school teacher who graduated from the University of North Florida and is from Naples, Fla.; she is married, was a member of the Jr. Olympic National Gymnastics Team and was The ROAR's representative at the 2003 Pro Bowl in Hawaii (6th year)

Shannon, a 22-year old from Jacksonville who is a student majoring in speech pathology; she has 17 years of dance training and danced on her state and national championship winning high school dance team and was a member of her college dance team (1st year)

Sunny, a 26-year old student from Asheville, NC majoring in nutrition who is also a diet technician at a local hospital; she is a former NBA cheerleader and has 22 years of dance experience (3rd year)

Theresa, a physical therapist from Jacksonville who obtained her degree from the University of North Florida; she is 29 years old and is trained in several different martial arts, including Kali and has been cheering for 20 years (4th year)

Tiffany, a 25-year old from Aganya, Guam who is an elementary school teacher who graduated from the University of North Florida; she has a second degree black belt in martial arts and has traveled with The ROAR internationally to entertain military service personnel stationed overseas (6th year)

Tisha, a 33-year old from Tacoma, Wash. who is a manager of tax-exempt bond services who graduated from the University of North Florida with a BBA emphasis in finance; she was The ROAR's representative at the 2004 Pro Bowl in Hawaii and is married (6th year)

The ROAR is an integral part of Jaguars entertainment during all home games and has developed one of the leading junior programs among NFL cheerleading teams. Under the direction of Christy Stechman Zynda, these professional cheerleaders captivate Jaguars fans with their explosive, high-energy routines. When not on the playing field, members of The ROAR serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Jaguars by participating in various community and charitable events nationally and internationally. Our leading ladies also spend time entertaining our United States troops all over the world.
