JACKSONVILLE – A lot got done, with more to do.

Trevor Lawrence on Wednesday morning spoke to the media on the final day of 2026 Training Camp – and if that final day came quickly, it also came with the Jaguars' quarterback feeling good about the past few weeks with an eye on the future.

"We're on track, but we just have to keep plugging away every day," Lawrence said.

Lawrence, entering his sixth season as the Jaguars' starting quarterback, discussed multiple topics when speaking Wednesday following the second of two joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Miller Electric Center. Among them:

Being a little surprised that Wednesday not only was the 20th day of '26 camp, it also was the final day.

"Is it today?" he said, smiling. "I guess that's what it is? Honestly, I always feel like there's something around the corner to stay ready for."

The Jaguars will play the Buccaneers in the regular-season finale at EverBank Stadium Friday, with few – if any – starters expected to play as the team uses Preseason Week 3 to evaluate and develop younger players and reserves.

The Jaguars will play host to the Cleveland Browns in the regular-season opener September 13.

"Next week is kind of an in-between week as well and we still got some prep this week to finish up," Lawrence said. "When you start off, you know have so much camp ahead of you and so much time to work on different things and it can be kind of a grind, but then now when you get to this point, you're like, 'Man, we got two weeks, less than two weeks before we're preparing to play Cleveland, but we play in basically two weeks.'

"That sounds crazy thinking about it and just realizing how close it is, how far we've come, but still how much work we have to do to get ready for Week One."

Lawrence said the coming days will be about studying Cleveland "more and more," with the Jaguars scheduled to practice next week during the bye week between the preseason and Week 1 before their "normal" regular-season weekly schedule begins.

"Next week's practice will definitely be more geared towards those looks and trying to get some preparation started on Cleveland," he said. "You don't have the whole game plan in by any means, but you start getting familiar with the defense you're playing and what you're going to get coming into Week One so you can be a little bit ahead."

Lawrence, who registered the best season of his NFL career last season with 29 touchdowns passing and nine rushing – a franchise-record for touchdowns in a season – also discussed his '26 camp on Wednesday and said he "got better every day."

"I feel like I found a little bit of a groove the last week or so," he said. "Every day wasn't my best, and it can be frustrating because you want the result. What we talk about in our room all the time is the practice is only as good as what you learn from it, whether it's good or bad.

"That's something that we focused on this year: 'Hey, there are a handful of bad plays out there that I need to learn from and get better from,' but as long as I do that and move forward, we're going to be fine. I know I'm going to make a bunch of plays, too.

"Making completions, all those things that I wanted to work on, I think I did a better job over the last week or so, creating off-schedule, and being smart with the football. Those are things I do well, but I also need to work on.

"That was a big point of emphasis I think I got better at."

Lawrence on his increased chemistry with third-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. during '26 camp:"The trust between us, because we've communicated so much, has just grown a lot. Certain routes, I know exactly what he's going to do. He's really consistent in his approach and what he does. He tells you something and how he's going to run a route, and then he goes and he does it like that. It sounds simple, but not everyone's like that. I've played with a lot of guys that are really good receivers, but you say you're going to run it one way, then you get in the game or the live period and the route looks completely different. He's not one of those guys. He's really detailed and he's really smart and building that trust to where it's gotten to the point now where I'm letting a lot of these throws go before he's even starting his cut."
