THE inaugural meeting of the new Jaguars Champions Club took place at Alltel Stadium on January 19 with over 160 new club members being welcomed by Jaguars' Chairman and CEO Wayne Weaver.

The Champions gained an insight into the new club which will support the development of the Jaguars in Jacksonville during a two-hour presentation and meeting in the West Touchdown Club.

Jaguars' Senior Vice President, Business Development, Tim Connolly, got the Champions Club first ever meeting underway with an overview of the challenge ahead for the volunteers as they assist the Jaguars in renewing season tickets and identifying potential new season ticket sales for the 2006 season.

Wayne Weaver added his thanks and encouragement before the Champions were officially welcomed to the club and presented with their exclusive Champions Club pins and member packs, while also being assigned to 32 teams which cover the entire Jacksonville Metro area.

Members of the 180-strong 2006 Champions Club can be found as far north as Brunswick in Georgia and as far south as Palm Coast, Melbourne and Orlando.

Commenting on the launch of the Champions Club, Wayne Weaver, said: "It was tremendous to see so many of our season ticket holders stepping up to become a part of the Champions Club. By becoming Champions, this very special group of fans will have a direct impact on helping us grow the Jaguars in Jacksonville and I was delighted to welcome so many of them to the Jaguars family."

Mr. Weaver became the first member of the new Champions Club when he was presented with an honorary membership by Jaguars' Executive Director of Ticket Sales and Marketing, Scott Loft.

Over 180 season ticket holders have now been invited to join the Jaguars Champions after the club received over 500 applications for the volunteer positions.

During the next few months, Champions will report to Alltel Stadium and reach for the phones to help the Jaguars in season ticket renewals. Champions will also be targeting new ticket sales in their own communities throughout North East and Central Florida to help grow the Jaguars fan base.

In return for their service, Champions will receive special exclusive merchandise, rewards and access to the team as they contribute their time in renewals activities and efforts in identifying new ticket sales.
