JACKSONVILLE â LeQuint Allen Jr. is up for the opener.
That means he's playing in Week 1, with the second-year running back active for the Jaguars against the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Stadium Sunday.
Quarterback Quinn Ewers was among six players deactivated 90 minutes before kickoff by the Jaguars, who elevated veteran Nick Mullens from the practice squad Saturday. Mullens will back up starter Trevor Lawrence Sunday.
â The Jaguars' inactive players for Week 1:
- Quarterback Quinn Ewers
- Tight end Tanner Koziol
- Offensive lineman Daniel Faalele
- Defensive end Wesley Williams
- Defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr.
- Safety Jalen Huskey
Allen, who missed much of training camp with a hip issue, was listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report of the week.
Right tackle Cole Van Lanen (knee), wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (thumb) and left tackle Anton Harrison (foot) were listed without game status Friday and were therefore expected to be available to play. All three are active Sunday.
