The Jacksonville Jaguars' 1999 training camp will begin on
Thursday, July 29 when all 87 players on the team's roster are
expected to report. The first practice session will take place on
Friday, July 30 at 8:40 a.m. on the Ferrell Fields adjacent to
ALLTEL Stadium. Training camp will be open to the public for
viewing practice sessions from July 30 through Monday, August 23.
There is no admission charge for training camp, and parking will be
available in the parking lots on the East side of the stadium.

COMBINED PRACTICE WITH ATLANTA FALCONS: The
Jaguars will practice with the Atlanta Falcons twice on Saturday,
August 7 at the Falcons camp at Furman University in Greenville,
S.C..
ROSTER CUTDOWN DATES: The first mandatory roster
reduction will be on Sunday, August 29, when all NFL teams must
reduce their roster to 60 players. The final roster cuts will be on
Sunday, September 5, when each team must reduce to 53 active
players. Until the mandatory roster cuts, the NFL roster limit for
each team is 80 players under contract. Roster exemptions are
granted for players who participated in the 1999 NFL Europe
League season. In the Jaguars' case, a total of seven roster
exemptions were granted for linebacker Reggie Lowe and tight end
Cam Quayle. The NFL Europe roster exemptions expire on the
August 29 cut to 60.
FANS TRAINING CAMP HOTLINE: Beginning Saturday, July
24, fans may call the Jaguars Fans Training Camp Hotline for a
recorded message which gives the daily practice schedule. The
phone number is (904) 633-6525. The message will be updated daily
- and as any changes are made to the practice schedule - beginning
July 30 through the end of training camp on August 23.
FAN GUIDELINES: As stated earlier, training camp practice
sessions will be open for viewing by the public from Friday, July 30
through the afternoon practice on Monday, August 23. Bleacher
seating which will accomodate approximately 1,800 people will be
provided along the North side of the practice fields. Restroom
facilities and concession stands will also be provided in the area of
the South end of the stadium. Concession stands will include food
and beverages as well as merchandise, including
training-camp-specific T-shirts and caps. The Jaguars' 1999 Media
Guide will also be available for $10, as well as subscriptions for
Jaguars Inside Report, the team's official newspaper.
Fans may park in the stadium lots on the East side of the stadium
(Lots C, D, E, F). For fans attending practice sessions,
videocameras are prohibited, along with horns, whistles and other
noisemakers. Still cameras are allowed.
Fans wishing to get autographs are asked to do so after each
practice session, outside the practice field fence as the players
return to the lockerroom, although players do have mandatory
weightlifting sessions after practice. Because of the full schedule
during training camp, it is not possible to schedule autograph or
photo sessions. Groups wishing to visit training camp do not need to
make special arrangements; they may watch practice from the
bleachers.
