The Jacksonville Jaguars signed third-year running back Albert Young and second-year safety Terrell Whitehead was waived/injured, the club announced this morning. If Whitehead clears waivers he will revert to the Jaguars' injured reserve list.

Young, 5-10, 209, spent the past three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after signing as a rookie free agent in 2008.  He has played in 10 career games with 25 carries for 82 yards.  He played in three games in 2010 before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

A native of Moorestown, N.J., Young was a three-year letterman at Iowa.  He finished his career with 3,173 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, only the third player in school history with 3,000-plus yards on the ground.
