JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have elevated OL Jerome Carvin and S Juan Thornhill to the active roster from the practice squad for tomorrow's game via standard elevation, the team announced today.
Carvin signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. He has since spent time on the practice squad with the Chiefs (2024), Bears (2024), Patriots (2024) and Jaguars (2024-25).
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Carvin played 60 games (43 starts) over five seasons at the University of Tennessee (2018-22), allowing only 2.0 sacks over the last 26 games of his career. Of his 43 starts, 21 came at left guard, 17 at right guard and five at center.
Thornhill was originally drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. A two-time Super Bowl champion (LIV and LVII), he has played in 96 regular-season games (75 starts) for the Chiefs (2019-22), Browns (2023-24) and Steelers (2025). His career totals include 370 tackles (252 solo), 25 passes defensed, eight interceptions, seven quarterback hits, seven tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one touchdown and 1.0 sack. In 2025, Thornhill appeared in nine games (one start) for Pittsburgh and produced 35 tackles (20 solo), one pass defensed and one tackle for loss on defense and three solo tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams.
A native of Altavista, Va., Thornhill played collegiately at the University of Virginia (2015-18) and registered 208 tackles, 26 passes defensed, 13 interceptions, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
