JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed TE Brenton Strange to a contract extension, the team announced today.
"As our offense continues to evolve, Brenton's role will evolve with it. He sets the tone as a run blocker and plays a huge role in the pass game as well," said Head Coach Liam Coen. "His work ethic and dedication define our core values and culture and we're excited to keep developing this offense with him as a main focal point."
"Over the course of last season, it was clear that Brenton was an important part of what we're building here," said General Manager James Gladstone. "He will continue to grow within the confines of the offense and be a weapon in both the pass and run game."
Strange, 25, has spent the past three seasons with the Jaguars after being drafted by the team in the second round (61st overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 43 regular-season games (26 starts) and totaled 91 receptions for 986 yards and six touchdowns.
In 2025, Strange made 12 starts and set career highs in catches (46), receiving yards (540) and touchdown receptions (three) despite missing five games due to injury. His 11.7 yards per reception ranked fourth in the AFC and tied-sixth in the NFL among tight ends, while his nine receptions of 20-plus yards tied for fifth in the AFC for his position group. Following his Week 12 return, he produced 26 receptions, 336 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns to rank tied-third, second and tied-third among AFC tight ends.
A native of Parkersburg, W.Va., Strange played collegiately at Penn State from 2019-22 where he registered 70 receptions for 755 yards and 11 touchdowns in 37 games played (31 starts).
