Tell us about yourself and your connection to Jacksonville/the Jaguars:
I was born and raised in Duval County. I became a fan of the Jaguars on November 30, 1993, when the NFL awarded Jacksonville the expansion franchise. I just recently returned home after serving 22 years in the United States Air Force. As a hobby, I collect Jaguars game-used memorabilia.
Do you have any gameday rituals?
When we are on a winning streak, I tend to keep my shirt/jersey the same and/or switch it up if we are in a lull. Most recently it worked in 2022 (6 straight wins) and 2023 (5 straight wins). It's not crazy if it works.
What's your favorite part of gameday?
The anticipation of the game starting and enjoying time with friends and family while tailgating create an exciting atmosphere. The gameday experience, especially at EverBank Stadium, provides an escape from everyday life, allowing us to immerse ourselves as fans in the excitement and passion of football and the Jaguars.
What is your favorite Jaguars moment?
Until 2023, it was the historic comeback in the 2007 AFC Wild Card game against the Steelers. I was sitting in the end zone where Josh Scobee kicked the game-winning field goal. Today, it is the 31-30 win against the Chargers in the playoffs. You could've heard a pin drop at halftime in the stadium, down 27-7. The moment Riley Patterson hit the field goal to win the game will forever be etched in my mind. That atmosphere was amazing.
What do you gain from attending a game instead of watching it on tv?
As I mentioned with my favorite Jaguars moment, I believe experiencing memorable moments live (like a game-winning touchdown or a player's milestone) creates a connection that you can reminisce about for years. The thrill of celebrating a victory with tens of thousands of fans is incomparable.
What would you tell someone who is considering purchasing season tickets?
Take the leap and do it. I was living in Fort Walton Beach, FL when I decided to purchase season tickets and had 100 excuses not to become a Season Ticket Member. I decided to "just give one season a shot" and here I am over 10 years later.
What is on your Jaguars bucket list?
To watch the Jaguars play in every stadium. So far, I have been to 14, including Wembley. Hoping to add to that number this season!
