JACKSONVILLE â The Jaguars did the expected Sunday.
They beat the Indianapolis Colts, 42-7, on Sunday afternoon at EverBank Stadium in a game that felt every bit as one-sided as the score â a game that never was in doubt after the Jaguars pulled away with a 21-0 second quarter that was exciting as it was impressive.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdowns and left the game early in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars' defense pressured Colts quarterback Daniel Jones and forced three takeaways. The Jaguars dominated essentially everywhere, and ran as effectively as they have all season.
It was the seventh consecutive dominant regular-season home victory in Jacksonville and moved the Jaguars three games ahead in the AFC South.
Don't take that last sentence for granted. Winning felt easy Sunday. It's not. Being in first place isn't easy. These are good times. That doesn't mean the Jaguars are guaranteed anything this season, but the times are still good. Â Enjoy.
Let's get to it âŠ

The injury to DaVon is absolutely devastating. Praying it's better than it looked. He's such an incredible player and human. One of those few guys that truly hates losing. If it's long term, do you think it makes a trade even more likely? I know it's "who ya got?" But, damn, this one really stings.
Jaguars nose tackle DaVon Hamilton sustained a knee injury in the second quarter on Sunday. He did not return and the injury looked serious. Hamilton is among the four or five players the Jaguars least want to lose to injury and it's therefore a significant loss. I expect the Jaguars will aggressively pursue interior defensive tackle help before the November 10 trade deadline. I can't say this makes a deal any more likely because it already felt likely. They wanted to get something done before. They still want to get something done. Stay tuned.

Way to get BTJ into the game! Let's Go, Jaguars!
Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. caught a 12-yard touchdown pass on the Jaguars' first series for a 7-0 lead. That was a cool moment for a good kid who has had a tough time recently. Good on him.

I'm not a uniform person but this uniform combination is hideous. Looks like something from WWE Body Slam. Horrible.
This was the much-ballyhooed, oft-misguided, usually-opinionated First Email of the Game. Loyal O-Zone readers â and he knows who he is â know I'm not a huge uniform guy, either. But the Rivalry uniforms the Jaguars wore Sunday were fine. More than fine, actually. They were cool. I liked them.

Those Bold City Uniforms actually looked better than I thought. What a nice changeup.
Good eye.

I felt kind of bad for the Colts. They came into a stadium where they haven't won in a decade against a team that doesn't lose back-to-back games and is notoriously good after the bye. They never had a chance.
The Jaguars played well Sunday. They dominated both sides of the ball in physical fashion. Lawrence also played well, which is unsurprising because he has played very well far more often than not since midway through last season. The Jaguars took advantage of a couple of second-quarter Colts mistakes and turned a close game into a one-sided one. Was it a tough matchup for the Colts? Maybe. Does anyone feel bad for them? It's the NFL. Pity and sympathy have no place here.

KOAF, how much does a defensive back have to interfere with a wide receiver before the blind officials call pass interference? BTJ was interfered with during his entire long route down the right sideline in the first quarter and no call. The defensive back actually grabbed the jersey at one point. League needs to seriously do something about the atrocious officiating week in week out.
I didn't see interference on that play being quite so egregious here as you did, though there was contact. I must say objectively I don't mind defensive pass interference not being called on occasion. It's called way too much these days â from this writer's view, anyway.

Didn't watch the gamem but I saw Lawrence got pulled after only attempting 14 passes and getting sacked three times. Must have been a rough day at the officeâŠ
Andrew's got jokes âŠ

This team is awful. Can't even get a shutout? Trevor only completed 11 passes? Pitiful.
⊠and so does Joshua.

With yet another game where Trevor was benched, can we just accept the Trever experiment was a bUsT?
It's an epidemic, evidently.

How many games in a row at the 'Bank has Trevor Lawrence seen his replacement play some or all of the fourth quarter?
The Jaguars have won their last seven regular-season games at EverBank Stadium by at least 17 points. The Jaguars' backup quarterback has played at some point in the fourth quarter of all of those games.
