JACKSONVILLE – Tony Boselli now serves on one of the NFL's most prestigious committees.

Boselli, entering his second season as the Jaguars' Executive Vice President of Football Operations, on Tuesday was appointed to the NFL's Competition Committee. The NFL made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.

"I have always viewed the game of football – and the institutions and traditions that support it – as sacred," Boselli said. "I felt that way when I entered the National Football League as a player more than 30 years ago, and I feel an even greater responsibility to it today.

"It is an honor to serve on the Competition Committee and to represent the best interests of the game, the NFL, and all 32 clubs. I look forward to joining the other members of the committee and continuing their good work as we thoroughly study the game, protect its integrity, and continue to evolve and grow it for future generations of players and fans."

The competition committee, established in 1968 following the announcement of the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, is critical in monitoring and shaping the rules of the game. It annually reviews the NFL's competitive aspects and has the authority to propose rules changes and new rules.

Current members: Atlanta Falcons Chief Executive Officer Rich McKay (co-chair), Dallas Cowboys executive vice president and CEO Stephen Jones (co-chair), Cincinnati Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn, Boselli, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles, San Francisco 49ers General Manager John Lynch, New York Giants CEO and co-owner John Mara, Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Sean McVay, Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell, Denver Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton, Houston Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans and New England Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel.

Boselli, the No. 2 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 1995 NFL Draft – their inaugural draft before their inaugural season – played left tackle for the Jaguars from 1995-2001. He was the first member of the Pride of the Jaguars and became the first player in franchise history enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022.

He became Executive Vice President of Football Operations in February 2025.
