With rookie Blaine Gabbert set to make his first NFL start at quarterback for the Jaguars Sunday, Del Rio said the No. 10 overall selection in this past April's NFL Draft approached the week as expected.

Yes, Del Rio said, Gabbert is ready for the moment. As importantly, the Jaguars are, too.

"The team's ready," Del Rio said Friday, shortly after the final full practice before the Jaguars (1-1) play the Carolina Panthers (0-2) at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., Sunday at 1 p.m.

"He (Gabbert) has done his part and the preparation has been good for everybody."

Gabbert took over as the starter this week after veteran Luke McCown threw four interceptions in a 32-3 loss to the Jets. Del Rio made the announcement Wednesday, and said Friday Gabbert "has had a good week of preparation."

"He's trying to do all that he can to prepare himself for the opportunity he's going to have Sunday," Del Rio said. "I'm sure he's a little excited, but again, we just want him to come in and play his part and do his job and let everybody focus on their job.

"As a team, want to play good football. In order to do that, it takes each guy concentrating on his job."

Also around the Jaguars Friday:

*Defensive end Aaron Kampman and WR Kassim Osgood were ruled out of Sunday's game. Kampman has missed the first two games of the season while recovering from a knee injury that kept him out the last eight games of last season. Osgood sustained a hamstring injury against the Jets Sunday.

*Defensive end Matt Roth was limited in practice Friday with a neck injury and is listed as questionable Sunday.

*Tight end Marcedes Lewis appears likely to play Sunday. He missed the Jets game with a calf injury and after being limited in practice Wednesday he practiced full Thursday and Friday.

*Wide receiver Jason Hill returned to full-participation status Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday with a hip flexor sustained in the season opener. He missed last week's game against the Jets.

*Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu (knee) practiced Friday, as did cornerback Derek Cox (chest). Cox practiced all week after missing the Jets game and Alualu practiced full Thursday and Friday after being limited Wednesday.

*Linebacker Clint Session was added to the injury report with a wrist injury, but practiced full and is listed as probable, while guard/center Jason Spitz worked limited for a second consecutive day with a quadriceps issue and also is listed as probable.
