Spicer signs extension

Veteran defensive end Paul Spicer has signed a contract extension with the team. Length and terms of the extension are undisclosed. Spicer, entering his seventh season with the Jaguars, made a career-high seven-and-a-half sacks last year after starting a career-best 14 games.

Eight defensive backs were selected ahead of Mathis in 2003 including six in the first round. Mathis led the Jaguars in 2005, and shared the lead in 2004, with five interceptions each year.
