"The Jaguars on Friday morning went through their last extensive practice in preparation for the 2011 regular-season opener, and when it was over, a little more than 48 hours remained before kickoff against the Tennessee Titans."

The ROAR released their 2011-12 calendar on Thursday night.

"Loyal readers of this web site – he knows who he is – undoubtedly have tired of hearing how you can't predict the regular season based on the preseason, but it's worth saying one more time. It's simply not a proper gauge for how a team will fare."

Paul Kuharsky of looks around the AFC South as Kickoff Weekend approaches.

"Our resume speaks for itself," defensive end Robert Mathis offered. "We&39;re not a team that&39;s just going to lay down for anybody, I don&39;t care who&39;s in or who&39;s out. That&39;s just not what we do here. If you want to count us out, by all means, do that."  Indianapolis Star

Read what Mike Munchak had to say following the Titans' Friday practice.

"Fox NFL analyst Jimmy Johnson said the Titans aren't the only team that might have cohesion issues at the start of the season.  "The advantage Tennessee has over some of these teams with new coaching staffs and a bunch of new players is that at least the Titans have a veteran quarterback," he said."  The Tennessean

The last word

"It's going to be a lot of fun.  It's been a long time and something I have worked hard for, gone through injuries for, and I'm more excited about the opportunity to get in and work with the group of men we have on this team and the work they have put in through a tumultuous offseason and a lockout, all the things we have gone through, and to suit up and open up the season on 9/11 weekend, Kickoff Weekend, we're real excited about what we're going to put on the field."
