Season ticket holders witnessed their first glimpse of the "new era" in Jaguars football last night at ALLTEL stadium. Owner Wayne Weaver, Vice President of Player Personnel James "Shack" Harris and Head Coach Jack Del Rio kicked off the event and expressed their excitement for the future of Jaguars football.

"If there's one thing that I can promise …we will be a team that attacks on the football field," Del Rio told the crowd. "Now I know that you all have to make up some of the real die-hards in the community, I just want to let you know that I really appreciate your support. I know it starts here, from this core going out, and I appreciate that."

Coordinators Bill Bates, Bill Musgrave and Mike Smith all followed Del Rio in addressing the crowd of over 4,000. Each of the three introduced their assistants, and assured fans of a more aggressive, attacking unit in 2003.

"Whether it be a variety of formations, or having two quarterbacks on the field, or having five wide receivers, it'll be exciting and we'll do whatever it takes," Musgrave told the fired up contingent.

"The purpose of tonight's event was basically to get Jack Del Rio and his coaching staff introduced to the fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars, to get them some identity, and to basically give them some personality," Jaguars Director of Special Events and Promotions Bo Reed said. "They all have great personalities, they all have interesting backgrounds, whether they played football or they've been coaching quite awhile. It's good to see them get involved in the community as they have."

Jaguars fans also had the chance to submit questions for the coaches to answer. The coaches then circulated through the crowd, greeting fans and signing autographs. For many of the fans that was the highlight of the evening.

"It's excellent, I'm glad to see that the coaches got to talk for themselves," Jaguars season ticket holder Giovanni Morales said. "In the past we never heard from the coaches. This is the first time that I've come out to an event and got to hear all the coaches speak. I think it's an excellent opportunity for the fans to relate."

Jaxson de Ville and the ROAR launched the festivities and fans were treated to free hot dogs and Pepsi. They were also able to purchase season tickets or relocate their existing seats. Fireworks concluded the event.

Touchdown Club Members and Suiteholders will have an opportunity to meet the staff Thursday night.
