'Honor ring' named

The Jacksonville Jaguars and their fans will induct the first member into the new "Pride of the Jaguars" when former offensive tackle Tony Boselli is honored on October 8 when the Jaguars host the New York Jets at Alltel Stadium.

The name, "Pride of the Jaguars," was chosen by fans on www.jaguars.com for the special area at Alltel Stadium that will be designed to honor former Jaguars' greats.

The Jaguars allowed fans the opportunity to help create the name and "Pride of the Jaguars" won with 36% of the more than 5,000 votes. More than 3,000 fans submitted their suggestions to www.jaguars.com and the club narrowed the list down to six potential names. The fans were allowed to vote from those six suggestions beginning July 11th with "Pride of the Jaguars" being announced today.

Several NFL Stadiums have similar areas honoring former players, and the Jaguars are excited to begin a tradition of their own.
