The Jaguars on Friday had just one selection in the 2011 NFL Draft.
They used it to address interior offensive line.
Will Rackley, a guard from Lehigh, became the Jaguars' second 2011 draft selection Friday when the team selected him with the No. 76 selection, their lone selection of the second or third round. The Jaguars traded a sixth-round selection in the '11 draft – the No. 182 selection overall – and the No. 80 selection to the San Francisco 49ers for the selection.
"This guy was a level above," Jaguars General Manager Gene Smith said. "He was the last guy in his level."
Smith said he considers Rackley to be an NFL starter – potentially early in his career.
The selection means the Jaguars went the first two days of the '11 draft without addressing a defense that team officials have acknowledged needs to be addressed in the off-season.
