JACKSONVILLE – They're leaders on and off the field.
They're the six team captains, and the Jaguars on Monday made that status as official as possible.
The following players have been named the Jaguars' captains for the 2025 season:
- Quarterback Trevor Lawrence
- Defensive end Josh Hines-Allen
- Linebacker Foyesade Oluokun
- Punter Logan Cooke
- Cornerback Jourdan Lewis
- Center Robert Hainsey
Coen said the captains were decided by player vote late last week.
"The nice thing is you didn't have to fudge it to get what you wanted," Coen said. "It was pretty clear based on the votes and the ballots that these were the six guys. It was cool to acknowledge the amount of guys who did receive votes throughout the team."
Coen said he also likely will name a seventh "rotating" captain each game week.
Lawrence, Hines-Allen, Oluokun and Cooke have been with the Jaguars a combined 20 seasons with Lewis and Hainsey joining the team as unrestricted free agents this past offseason.
"It feels really good, especially coming into a new locker room with guys who have been here," Lewis said. "Being in a room with my peers and them seeing me as a leader feels really good. We're going to be a good football team, so that means a lot."
