Jaguars Make Two Roster Moves

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed rookie defensive tackle Jervonte Jackson and waived defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey.

Jackson, 6-5, 300, was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles on May 1 and was waived on August 5. Jackson, 22, was a four-year letterman at Florida Atlantic where he compiled 153 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He was a two-time All-Sun Belt selection.

A native of Miami, Florida, Jackson was a three-sport standout in football, track and basketball at North Miami High School. He has four sisters and seven brothers including an older brother, Jamaal, who plays center for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mincey, a former Florida player, was signed by the Jaguars as a free agent in December of 2006 and played in nine games with the club the last three seasons.
