JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two area youth from the Jaguars Foundation's youth football initiative were recognized with a pair of prestigious awards during NFL Honors celebrations Thursday and Friday. Beachside High School QB Edward 'Eddie' Jordan IV was crowned the male national winner of NFL Latino Youth Honors and Mandarin High School ATH Brysen Wright was recognized as the boys NFL Flag Player of the Year.
Jordan, a Cuban American student-athlete, was named as the male national winner of Latino Youth Honors by the NFL, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and presenting partner Procter & Gamble. Jordan earned this highly coveted honor by exemplifying what it means to be an outstanding student-athlete through his leadership, academic dedication and service to others. As Beachside High School's quarterback during his senior season, Jordan threw for 22 touchdowns and 2,236 yards in addition to four scores on the ground.
Off the field, he is deeply committed to mentoring younger athletes at practices, youth clinics and summer camps. Academically, Jordan maintains a 3.94 unweighted GPA while balancing the demands of athletics and leadership. As the male overall winner, Jordan additionally earned a $25,000 grant for college.
Wright was recognized as the NFL Boys Flag Player of the Year. His viral catches and tremendous play at the NFL Flag Championships last summer in Canton, Ohio, helped capture a championship victory for Jaguars Elite 14u Boys and earned him tournament MVP. Wright led Jaguars Elite to a dominant 7-0 run and a +118 scoring margin at the Championships. He also hauled in a tournament-high 10 receiving touchdowns. Wright is universally ranked as the No. 1 college football recruit for the 2028 class.
"The Jaguars and Jaguars PREP are proud to have two exceptional athletes represent Jacksonville at the national level," said Jaguars Vice President of Community Impact and Football Development Adriel Rocha. "The NFL Latino Youth Honors award and the NFL Flag Player of the Year award give us the opportunity to highlight two athletes who are successful on and off the field and showcase the talent we have here in Northeast Florida. Congratulations to them both."
Both athletes received two tickets to attend Super Bowl LX this Sunday and participated in several special events throughout the week.
Also recognized during NFL Honors were Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen, who was one of five finalists for NFL Coach of the Year; QB Trevor Lawrence, who was a finalist for both NFL Most Valuable Player and Comeback Player of the Year; and P Logan Cooke, who was the Jaguars Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Club Winner. Earlier in the week, LB Devin Lloyd and LS Ross Matiscik took part in the 2026 Pro Bowl Games and Sandalwood High School flag athlete Kirsten Gudmalin represented the Jaguars in the NFL Flag Girls High School Showcase as part of the festivities.
