The Jacksonville Jaguars signed offensive tackle William Robinson to a contract, the club announced today.  Length and terms of the contract are undisclosed. Robinson was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday.

Robinson, 6-5, 297, was claimed off waivers by the Jaguars from New Orleans on December 29, 2011.  He has also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins.  He was originally signed as an undrafted rookie by Seattle in 2008 and has played in one regular season game and one postseason game.  Robinson spent the 2011 preseason with the Seahawks before he was waived on September 3.  He was signed to the Saints practice squad two days later and was elevated to the active roster on November 15.

A native of Pomona, California, Robinson was a four-year letterman at San Diego State where he started his final two seasons at left tackle.  He also saw action at guard.
