The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed placekicker Tim Seder. He replaces Hayden Epstein, who was waived yesterday.

Seder, 28, played for the Dallas Cowboys the last two seasons but was waived before the start of this season. In two years, he scored 159 points and made 36 of 50 field goal attempts. He will wear jersey No. 3.

The 5-8, 186-pound Seder was teaching and coaching at Lucas High School in Ashland, Ohio, when he received a call from the Dallas Cowboys for a tryout two years ago. He beat out four other kickers and was Dallas' placekicker until a sprained right ankle sidelined him for the second half of the 2001 season.

Seder played collegiately at Ashland College, scoring 204 points in three seasons. He kicked a school-record 41 field goals. He did not play football in 1998 and '99.
