JACKSONVILLE – Senior writer John Oehser, senior correspondent Brian Sexton and team reporter Kainani Stevens offer quick thoughts on the Jaguars as they prepare to play the Seattle Seahawks at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville Sunday.

- They will be bold. If we know anything about these New Era Jaguars, it's this: They will not go quietly into that good night. Or day, for that matter. The latest example of the bold attitude embraced by Head Coach Liam Coen, General Manager James Gladstone and Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tony Boselli came Wednesday when the team reportedly traded cornerback Tyson Campbell to the Cleveland Browns for cornerback Greg Newsome. The Jaguars are tied for the best record in the AFC and are "buyers" as the trade deadline approaches, and the belief is that Newsome – scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the season – will improve an already improved secondary that now looks dramatically different from last season. This regime proved again Wednesday they won't be tied to past decisions and that they'll act when they believe necessary. "Good teams can be built throughout the course of an offseason," Gladstone said in August. "I think the great teams continue to evolve throughout the course of a season." When Gladstone speaks, he speaks boldly. This regime acts that way, too.
- They're who they are – and that's good thing. The Jaguars are 4-1 – and while that's their best record through five games since 2007, what might be as important is they not only have an identity, they consistently play to it. The Jaguars aren't yet playing the "clean football" Coen covets, but they're absolutely the tough and physical team he talked throughout the offseason and training camp. They for the most part have run consistently, stopped the run consistently and forced turnovers. Perhaps the most encouraging attribute about this team is it has shown it can win under various circumstances – and when it's not playing its best. Consider: The Jaguars not only started slowly against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, they left points on the field when they failed to score on fourth-and-1 in the first half. That contributed to a 14-0 Chiefs lead. The Jaguars not only didn't wilt in the face of that deficit, they landed punch after punch to take a 21-14 third-quarter lead with all three phases contributing. This team beat a really good team under adverse circumstances Monday and didn't have to play perfectly to do it. Whatever the identity, that bodes well for the final 12 weeks of the season.

- We'll see if the Jaguars can stay connected to the running game this week. The Seahawks' run defense is as good as any in the NFL. We saw the importance of the Jaguars running against Kansas City. With it, they were able to stay balanced and had their best day of the season on third down, converting 5 of 9 – or 55 percent. Seattle has a talented front with Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, DeMarcus Lawrence and Byron Murphy, but the group goes at least eight deep. Head Coach Mike McDonald has taken a Baltimore approach to that group in that the Seahawks are always moving to find the best matchups and play a very aggressive style.
- The Jaguars don't believe they've arrived. Coen told the media Wednesday they may be the most "pissed-off" 4-1 team in the NFL, knowing they can play much better and not at all happy with some of the opportunities they missed. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence isn't worried about guys thinking they're all that after four victories. The vibe in the locker room is they're looking through the windshield and not at the rearview mirror, and that everyone knows Seattle is a very talented team. I believe the edge Coen brings will keep his players focused on being as focused and sharp as possible. There's very little that isn't passionate and urgent with Coen. It's clear that his team is already, after five games, adopting his personality.

- We're on to Seattle. A massive win for the Jags over the Chiefs on Monday Night Football made an impact on a national stage, but now the Jaguars must quickly turn the page to prepare for another tough opponent. The Seahawks will come to town wielding some impressive offensive weapons and one of the best run-stopping defenses in the league. Cpen mentioned on Wednesday his team may be "the most pissed-off 4-1 team" in the league. Having yet to play to their potential, there is plenty left to prove for the Jaguars this season and it starts with the Seahawks on Sunday.
- Injury concerns for the short week. The Jaguars held a walkthrough-like practice Wednesday with players in shorts, T-Shirts and helmets with Coen trying to give his players some additional rest on a short week – and with injuries affecting both the offensive line and tight end room. Center Robert Hainsey did not participate in practice Wednesday as he deals with a hamstring injury. Rookie Jonah Monheim stepped in for Hainsey in the second half against the Chiefs and looked solid in his first NFL game. Tight end Brenton Strange was placed on injured reserve and his role on the team will be difficult to replicate because of his contributions as a blocker and a pass-catcher. It's also still a waiting game for defensive end Travon Walker who missed the Chiefs game after he had wrist surgery last week. Walker practiced limited Wednesday with a cast.
The Jaguars took care of business under the lights, and the fans brought the energy all night long. Relive real-time reactions, big moments, and the electric atmosphere that helped fuel the win. DUUUVAL!
