Mock draft v3.0: Jaguars select …

JACKSONVILLE – Talk about a quick turnaround.

If it seems as if we just issued version v2.0 of the Jaguars.com 2016 mock draft – and if it seems like this is really, really soon for 3.0 … we did, and it is. So, why so soon?

The first wave of 2016 free agency has come and gone, that's why.

With that first wave complete, pressing needs – some perceived and others very real – have changed for teams throughout the NFL. That's true not only in the first few selections, but throughout the first round.

How will free agency change the top of the draft? For the Jaguars, how will signing Malik Jackson, Tashaun Gipson and Prince Amukamara change what is expected to be a defensive focus with the No. 5 overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft?

That remains to be seen, but the needs would seem likely to have at least some influence on where teams will go early in the first round. Now that the Jaguars have signed Tashaun Gipson is there a pressing need for Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey?

Would missing on an edge rusher in free agency sway them to Joey Bosa of Ohio State?

The guess here is the latter might well be the case, but UCLA linebacker Myles Jack, Ramsey and even end DeForest Buckner of Oregon remain compelling possibilities for the Jaguars at No. 5.

For now, the projection for the Jaguars is Bosa because he's available in this draft – and because a pass rusher there might just be too hard for the Jaguars to pass.

With that in mind, here's 3.0 of the 2016 jaguars.com mock draft:
