JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars finished the weekend getting defensive again.
That meant addressing linebacker, with their 10th and final selection of the 2026 NFL Draft an off-ball player at the position.
Parker Hughes, a linebacker from Middle Tennessee State, on Saturday was selected by the Jaguars No. 240 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft – the 24th selection of Round 7. That was the Jaguars' last selection of the draft, their second of the seventh round.
Hughes (6-feet-2, 205 pounds) played 2021-2025 at Middle Tennessee State. He registered 252 career tackles, 123 solos, with 3.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss. He had 100 tackles, 50 solos, in 2025. He had two career interceptions, both in 2025.
Hughes became the fourth player from Middle Tennessee State selected by the Jaguars in the NFL Draft, the first since cornerback Rod Isaac (Round 5) in 2011.
The Jaguars earlier in the draft selected Texas A&M tight end Nate Boerkircher (No. 56 overall, Round 2), Texas A&M defensive tackle Albert Regis (No. 81 overall, Round 3), Oregon guard Emmanuel Pregnon (No. 88 overall, Round 3), Maryland safety Jalen Huskey (No. 100 overall, Round 3), Duke edge Wesley Williams (No. 119 overall, Round 4), Houston tight end Tanner Koziol (No. 164 overall, Round 5), Baylor wide receiver Josh Cameron (191 overall, Round 6), Stanford wide receiver CJ Williams (No. 203 overall, Round 6) and Washington edge Zach Durfee (No. 233 overall, Round 7).
The Jaguars did not have a selection in Thursday's Round 1, having traded the selection to move up and select wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter No. 2 overall (Round 1) in the 2025 NFL Draft.
