Jaguars LB Mike Peterson was named a captain for the Jaguars today in a vote of his teammates. Peterson, a 10-year veteran now in his fifth season with the team, becomes the sixth player chosen to be a captain this season. He joins RB Fred Taylor, QB David Garrard, LB Daryl Smith, DE Paul Spicer and CB Rashean Mathis who were named captains last week by head coach Jack Del Rio.

Del Rio also announced today the formation of a Player Leadership Council. This group is comprised of the six captains in addition to C Brad Meester, OT Tony Pashos, RB Maurice Jones-Drew, TE Marcedes Lewis and RB Montell Owens. This group will meet with Coach Del Rio and serve a leadership role for the team.
