JACKSONVILLE – The pads stayed on and the heat came back.

That made for difficult conditions Tuesday morning as the Jaguars completed perhaps their toughest stretch of 2020 Training Camp. The team practiced for two hours in 90-degree temperatures, a full-padded – and full-team – session at the Dream Finders Homes Practice Complex.

It marked the Jaguars' sixth consecutive day of practice.

The Jaguars worked with essentially the entire team Wednesday, with all but five players participating in a practice that included multiple team sessions – and two one-on-one pass rush and two one-on-one receiver/defensive back sessions. This was one day after more than 20 Jaguars players worked inside during practice on an "injury maintenance" day.

Defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich met with the media via videoconference shortly before practice. Fourth-year defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot met with the media shortly after practice. Coverage of the availabilities can be found on jaguars.com later Tuesday.

Jaguars players have a scheduled day off Wednesday, with 2020 Training Camp scheduled to resume with a practice Thursday at 9:45 a.m. Head Coach Doug Marrone is scheduled to meet with the media before practice Thursday.

Here's a look at Tuesday's practice:

PLAY OF THE DAY

Tuesday was a day on which multiple reserves and young players stood out, but it was also a day in which quarterback Gardner Minshew II and wide receiver DJ Chark made the play of the day. Minshew and Chark, who have shown impressive timing and chemistry throughout camp, hooked up on a long pass late in practice. Minshew threw deep down the right sideline, dropping the ball accurately to Chark – who caught the pass just behind rookie cornerback Luq Barcoo before stepping out of bounds for a 40-yard gain.

STANDING OUT

*First-year reserve wide receiver Terry Godwin stood out Tuesday, catching a red-zone touchdown on a rollout from reserve quarterback Mike Glennon in a late-practice team period and following that with a 30-yard pass from Glennon in a team session in the day's final period. Godwin and Glennon also connected in an early drill. …

*Rookie quarterback Jake Luton continued to show an impressive arm, completing an early pass to rookie wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. He had a pass to rookie wide receiver Collin Johnson down the seam deflected by cornerback Tre Herndon but completed a 25-yard pass down the other seam one play later to second-year wide receiver Michael Walker. …

*Herndon also had a pass defensed in an earlier team drill. …

*Safety Jarrod Wilson had a pass breakup in the final team drill of the day on a pass from Minshew to Chark. …

*Shenault had several catches on intermediate passes, including a 15-yard reception from Minshew in a late team drill. …

*Rookie nose tackle DaVon Hamilton continued to look good in recent days, winning several repetitions in one-one-one pass rush. …

*Right tackle Jawaan Taylor won multiple repetitions in one-on-one pass rush. …

*Defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, who signed with the team as an unrestricted free agent last week, continued to stand out and beat rookie Ben Bartch early in one-on-one pass rush; Bartch held his own in a later repetition against Jernigan in the same drill. …

*Left tackle Cam Robinson looked strong in one-on-one pass rush, handling defensive end/linebacker Josh Allen twice early in the drill. …

INJURY WATCH

Rookie linebacker/defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson missed practice Tuesday, a planned day off in his return protocol from missing time earlier in camp with a hamstring issue. Linebacker Dakota Allen missed practice Tuesday with a hip issue and rookie safety Daniel Thomas missed with a hamstring issue. Defensive tackle Taven Bryan missed a third consecutive practice with a knee bruise sustained in practice Saturday and wide receiver Dede Westbrook remained out with a shoulder issue; Marrone on Monday called the status of the two players "week-to-week" and said neither situation was "surgical." Linebacker Quincy Williams remained out with a core muscle injury and Marrone also termed his status "week-to-week."

NOTABLE

*Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue remains away from the team, not having signed the franchise tag the team placed on him this past offseason. Having not signed the tag means Ngakoue is not under contract and his absence therefore does not violate NFL rules. Ngakoue can either sign the tag and play for the Jaguars on a one-year deal or not play in the NFL this season. …

*Offensive lineman Ryan Pope remains the lone Jaguars player on reserve/COVID-19, a new reserve category created by the NFL for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. …
