Embree earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Colorado, where he played tight end (1989-94) and was part of the 1990 National Championship team. Embree's brother, Jon, is assistant head coach and tight ends coach for the Miami Dolphins; his nephew, Connor, is wide receivers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs; and his son, Sean Jr., is a wide receiver at Eastern Washington University.

Scarlett has served as running backs coach and run game coordinator at Cardinal Newman (Fla.) High School following a five-year playing career as a running back across the NFL, Canadian Football League and United States Football League. He was drafted by Carolina in the fifth round (154th overall) in 2019 and played in nine games for the Panthers that season. Scarlett went on to spend time with the Detroit Lions (2020), Miami Dolphins (2021), Montreal Alouettes (2022), Edmonton Elks (2022) and Philadelphia Stars (2023).

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Scarlett played collegiately at the University of Florida from 2015-18. He finished his career with 1,846 rushing yards, 344 carries and 12 touchdowns in 35 games played.

Confesor brings 15 years of coaching and scouting experience with stops at the University of Rhode Island (2009-12 and 2013-18), the Kansas City Chiefs (2012-13), College of the Holy Cross (2018-19), the United States Air Force Academy (2019-23) and Wake Forest University (2023-25).
