Jaguars Conclude June Pre-Camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars concluded their 2000 pre-camp today on Ferrell Fields adjacent to ALLTEL Stadium, as head coach Tom Coughlin ended practice early.

Although rookies will remain in Jacksonville for one more week, the entire team will not come together again until all players report for training camp on July 20. The first practice will be held on July 21.

"We ended early today but we got done what we needed to get done. I wanted to advance the classroom work through today for the veterans, the rookies will be here next week, but we have seen basically what we need to see.

"A lot of people have been impressive throughout this camp," Coughlin continued. "Kiwaukee Thomas impressed me. Jason Craft has done very well. Danny Clark and Mark Baniewicz did some things well. There were a lot of people who showed us some good things. The playbooks are done, the tapes are ready, and the training camp schedule is set. So now we are anticipating spending time with our families and then coming back to work in July."

All 82 players on the roster were in attendance on Friday with the exception of four players, three of whom were allocated to the NFL Europe League - S Blaine McElmurry, CB Zebby Lethridge and S Kevin Peoples. DE Tony Brackens, who was designated as a franchise player, left town earlier this week.
