Jaguars Return To Practice

The Jaguars began their third full week of training camp with an afternoon practice session today, two days after their preseason opening loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Jaguars’ pass offense struggled in its first game, netting only 29 yards and getting sacked five times, and Monday’s practice wasn’t much better. But head coach Tom Coughlin said, “Everybody has to perform at a higher level. We have to take advantage of things we can do and do them well. Right now we’re not doing that. It’ll get better. This will be a tough night in the film session for the offensive players, but they’ll come out with greater resolve and I expect they’ll practice better tomorrow.”

On Monday, the Jaguars will return to two practices, with sessions at 8:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. The practices will be on Fields 2 (middle field) and 3 (on the west). Players are available from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Radisson, and Tom Coughlin will hold his news conference following the morning practice.

A fire lane around the South End Zone of ALLTEL Stadium has been opened in time for Friday night’s preseason home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fans watching practices at training camp can use the fire lane to access the player autograph area, rather than having to go around the practice fields.
