Jaguars sign tight end Joey Haynos

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran free agent tight end Joey Haynosand waived rookie offensive lineman Rob McGill, the club announced this morning.  The Jaguars' roster stands at 90 players.  Teams must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 80 players by 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 30. 

Haynos, 6-8, 270, spent the past three seasons with the Miami Dolphins.  He was originally signed as a rookie free agent by Green Bay in 2008.  After three weeks on the Packers practice squad, he was signed by the Dolphins to their active roster.  His career totals include 21 receptions for 184 yards and three touchdowns. 

A native of Rockville, Md., Haynos missed the entire 2010 season after suffering a foot injury in the third preseason game.  He appeared in a career-high 16 games with eight starts in 2009, finishing with 19 receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns.  He was a four-year letterman at Maryland where he totaled 68 career receptions for 687 yards and four touchdowns.
