Jaguars to Hold Fan Fest and Select-A-Seat on Draft Day

In conjunction with this year's NFL draft, the Jaguars will host the seventh annual Budweiser "Draft Day Fan Fest" Saturday at ALLTEL Stadium from 12:00 noon through the Jaguars' expected selection on the 13th pick of the first round (approximately 3:00 p.m) until 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for an afternoon of food, fun and festivities, and one lucky fan will have a chance to win a Chevy Tahoe for throwing a football through a target.

Jaguars fans will be able to watch ESPN's live draft coverage on the Jumbotron screens, in addition to participating in games and live entertainment by the Mosquitos that will be available. Fans will be able to meet and greet Jaguars players, be introduced to the 2001 Roar cheerleaders and team mascot Jaxson de Ville.

Among the players attending include cornerbacks Fernando Bryant and Aaron Beasley, offensive tackle Zach Wiegert, tight end Damon Jones, placekicker Mike Hollis and others.

In addition, the Jaguars' Select-A-Seat event for the 2001-2003 seasons will take place. Available seats will be marked for new season ticket holder purchases, including those in the Touchdown Club. Fans can walk around the stadium, check out the views and make their seat selections. Ticket Office Personnel will be available to assist ticket buyers. Most important, Saturday will be the first opportunity for fans to purchase a new $100 season ticket package - $10 a game - that is the lowest cost of any team in the NFL. Two locations have been set aside for the new $100 price structure: the last four rows of the upper deck on the east side of ALLTEL Stadium, including an additional six rows of the Winn-Dixie Family Fun Zone.

The first annual "Draft Day Dash" - a 5K run at twilight for Jaguars fans - is open to all ages. Runners will receive T-shirts, a team poster and commemorative race posters. Cameras will be posted at the 50-yard line to display runners on the Jumbotron as they cross the finish line. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each of 12 age groups. The course will wind through downtown Jacksonville and end at the 50-yard line at ALLTEL Stadium. A "Centipede Race" will be held, featuring teams of 13 adult runners or six youth runners. Prizes will be awarded to the first centipede team that crosses the finish line. The registration fee is $20 ($34 for centipede teams). Registration begins at 12:00 noon with the race beginning at 5:00.

The Jacksonville Jaguars Gatorade Junior Training camp is a non-contact, football clinic for children ages 6 to 12. Saturday's two sessions inside ALLTEL Stadium will run from 1:00 to 2:30 and 3:00 to 4:30 and has a maximum capacity of 250 kids per clinic. Registration begins at 12:00 noon in the Pavilion on a first-come, first-served basis. No cleats are allowed (tennis shoes only).

Fans may enter the Pavilion area of ALLTEL Stadium at the South End Zone between Gates 1 and 4.
