JACKSONVILLE – He's healthy, happy and very ready.

Trevor Lawrence this week will enter his fifth NFL training camp to prepare for his fifth season as the Jaguars' starting quarterback. It's his first season as a father, and his first under Head Coach Liam Coen. This is an important time for Lawrence – and as it approaches, he speaks as positively of his health as he does his new surroundings.

"This is the healthiest I've been in a while," he said.

Lawrence, who underwent season-ending surgery on his left – non-throwing shoulder – in December, joined senior writer John Oehser for the first O-Zone Podcast of 2025 Training Camp. In addition to saying he will be 100 percent when camp begins Wednesday at the Miller Electric Center, he discussed the Jaguars' new offense, rookie wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter and second-year veteran Brian Thomas Jr.

He, too, discussed Coen – who joined the Jaguars in January and who is their third head coach since selecting Lawrence No. 1 in the 2021 NFL Draft

"I love him; he's great," Lawrence said. "He's very open, honest and has clear communication with his players. You know exactly where he stands. I've really appreciated how he has handled building our relationship thus far. I'm just excited to get to the season, get to training camp and getting to work with him.

"He really loves football. You would hope everyone loves football that's coaching, but seeing him … it's impressive that he really loves it and puts so much into it."

Lawrence, after missing one game in his first three NFL seasons, missed seven games last season and finished the season on injured reserve. He sustained a shoulder injury in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles and had season-ending shoulder surgery after sustaining a concussion in a Week 13 loss to the Houston Texans.

"I'm really excited just to be healthy," he said. "It feels good doing a full offseason of therapy and rehab and trying to get back to where I can feel healthy. I've gotten to that point, so it feels really good. I've had an entire offseason of training and feel like I'm in really great shape. I'm throwing the ball well.

"It's going to be awesome. I'm excited to be back. It's what I love to do, to play, so I'm excited to be back on the field."
