JACKSONVLLE – The focus is strong, and the urgency remains.

Robert Hainsey – as he did last offseason – likes what he is seeing around the Jaguars as organized team activities continue at the Miller Electric Center, and he likes what he's seeing from his teammates on an improving and motivated offensive line.

The goal is improvement, and Hainsey is absolutely seeing that.

"We know what we're capable of and we know where we can take things," he said.

Hainsey, the Jaguars' veteran center, joined senior writer John Oehser for this 2026 offseason O-Zone Podcast. He discussed multiple topics, including how Head Coach Liam Coen has shaped the culture around the organization – not just during a 2025 AFC South Championship season, but into the '26 season.

"He's good at it because he tries," Hainsey said. "He cares. To him, that's his authentic self and he doesn't want to be anything other than that, I would say. It carries into us to where you can just come in, be who you are, and know, 'These are the things I need to work on.'

"You have a great support group for that throughout your teammates and coaches. 'How are we going to get better as a group today? What are we going to attack? What ideas can we bounce off each other?'

"That's when it's fun to kind of work on these things."

Hainsey, who signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent in the 2025 offseason after four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, discussed the vibe around the Miller Electric Center this offseason.

"The coaches have done a great job of installing things like it's Day 1, like no one knows anything, like it was first day of spring last year," Hainsey said. "They've done a really good job. With [offensive coordinator] Grant [Udinski], [offensive line coach] Sean [Sarrett] and Liam.

"We're starting at Day 1 and we're going to grow together as 2026 Jags."

And when it comes to an offensive line that Hainsey said took "a lot of steps last year," the task now is to find a way to improve on a productive, solid season.

"We improved over the course of the year," he said. "A big next step for us is even more understanding of how we can that next step. That's a great starting point for us, understanding just the intention of our plays, how can we help our backs, our tight ends, our quarterback? How can we help everyone else even more by our understanding of the play and of the offense?

"Football is the best team sport there is. The offensive line, the five offensive linemen, is another embodiment of what football is about."
