2025 Playoff Picture: Jaguars First in South, No. 3 in AFC Through Week 15

Each week during the final weeks of the 2025 NFL regular season, we'll update where the Jaguars stand in the AFC South race and the AFC race.

The Jaguars (10-4) on Sunday beat the New York Jets, 48-20, at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville – a victory that kept them in sole possession of first place in the AFC South and maintained their position in the AFC standings.

The Jaguars according to the NFL can clinch a playoff berth this week with:

  • A victory over the Denver Broncos (12-2) at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo., with an Indianapolis Colts (8-6) road loss or tie against the San Francisco 49ers (10-4) Monday, OR
  • A victory over the Broncos with a Houston Texans (9-5) loss or tie against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-12) at home, OR
  • A tie with the Broncos and a Colts loss, OR
  • A tie with the Broncos and a Colts tie and Texans loss

The Jaguars according to NFL.com have a 96% probability to qualify for the postseason and they remain in the race for the No. 1 seed in the AFC with 3 regular-season games remaining. They play the top-seeded Broncos Sunday, then visit the Colts (8-6) in Week 17 before finishing the regular season with a home game against the Tennessee Titans (2-12).

The Jaguars, who have won their last 5 games and 6 of their last 7, remain a game ahead of the Texans (9-5) in the division and 2 games ahead of the third-place Colts. They remain seeded No. 3 in the AFC.

What happened this week: The Jaguars beat the 3-11 Jets in Jacksonville; the Texans beat the 3-11 Arizona Cardinals, 40-20, in Houston; the Colts lost to the 11-3 Seattle Seahawks, 18-16, in Seattle; the Titans lost to the 10-4 San Francisco 49ers, 37-24, in San Francisco.

What's next: The Jaguars visit the Broncos Sunday; the Texans play host to the Las Vegas Raiders (2-12) Sunday; the Colts play host to the 49ers Monday; the Titans play host to the Kansas City Chiefs (6-8) Sunday.

Outlook: The Jaguars hold a 1-game lead on the Texans and a 2-game lead on the Colts with 3 games remaining. The Colts and Jaguars play in Indianapolis in Week 17. The Jaguars and Texans split their games this season, with the Jaguars winning 17-10 in Jacksonville in Week 3 and the Texans winning 36-29 in Houston in Week 10. The Texans play host to the Colts in Week 18.

The Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans in Week 18 at EverBank Stadium (date TBD). The team will close out the regular season in their Prowler throwback uniforms.

Outlook: The Jaguars with Sunday's victory maintained their status as the No. 3 seed in the AFC. The Broncos clinched a playoff spot with a 34-26 victory over the Green Bay Packers Sunday and are the only AFC team to clinch a postseason spot. The Patriots missed a chance to clinch the AFC East Sunday, squandering a 21-point lead in a 35-31 home loss to the Bills. The three-time defending AFC Champion Chiefs were eliminated with a 16-13 home loss to the Chargers.
